Quick entry. Photos I took this morning, random walk around the city. D50 with kit lens. Boo.

Anyway.

A short series of a McDonalds near the Gondolayu bridge. Have always thought the place looked odd somehow, now I kinda understand why.

Some other colors:

BW:

Tomorrow I'll be going out with some people from FN --the cool ones, that is--, some of which I've been really wanting to take photos with. Should be fun, can't wait!
Heya, haven't shot anything new lately, lacks of strong will. I'm currently feeling bitter too about something. Well, a few things actually. Feel like bitching but realize that by doing so it will make me sound even more like a loser so I'll digress.

So I was digging through old folders to see some photos, hoping to find something good/funny/whatever to cheer me up a bit. And then, aside from random photographs of friends, I also found these photos... Photos of things that I thought was interesting from back then when I didn't know what the hell aperture and shutter speed meant. Yeah, these are photos from around 2-3 years ago when I haven't got into photography.

All taken with Cybershot P73, a puny little digicam, my first camera. I crop the images so the aspect ratio resemble 35mm photos. Because 4:3 just seems stupid.

Please do notice the dumb looking helmet.

Heating the painted styrofoam board with a spotlight so it'll dry faster. At that time of course I wouldn't know that the styrofoam would act as a nice reflector. ;)

Hah, this was when we wanted to camp on a beach... it was getting dark, we tried to set up this stupid tent that kept getting blown away by the strong wind... and when it was finally done, rain started pouring down and turned out that the tent wasn't good enough to hold off the water. In the end we spent the night on a nearby parking lot.

Owh yeah, unfocused subjects + built-in flash + dust on the lens. Art stuff.

I'm off from school for 3 weeks. That's a lot of time to spend. Hmm..
Some color film scans. Superia X-tra 400. FM2n + 50/1.8.

Starting in school. Any of you ever using one of these...

knows that it's really a bitch to operate. We were doing school assignment, the use of filters in BW. Couldn't find any 120 BW film anymore in town though, so we ended up using 135 film instead. So what's the big ass view camera for? For the color comparison (120 color films are still available). Or perhaps so that we could look cooler or something, I dunno.

What's he photographing anyway?

This:

Don't ask.

Btw, the macro on the last photo was achieved by putting a Rodenstock loupe in front of my lens. Too bad I couldn't bring it outside the studio, would be cool to use it on... uh, random useless stuff. Killer vignette!

Smoking is hazardous. Or so they say.

Moving on to architecture campus. Annual sport gala. Nice. Tug o' war to open it. Really nice.

Waiting for our game to start. That's Made, from Bali. What an appropriate shirt to wear, De. He's one of our power generators.

A game for other teams. They (the team seen here) won the game. Unfortunately they met us in the next round so they got defeated in turn. Sorry boys, as long as it only requires raw strength, our team is pretty much invincible. ;)

Spectators. Too shallow a DOF here.

Minos really knew how to enjoy himself.

Some of our team. Probably the last gala for them, since this should be their last year.

After game. Minos enjoyed a massage from Taufik.

Another roll of Superia 400. But this time using Mita's dad's 50/1.4. Yup, it's repaired. Trying to find a buyer now. Before it got sold of course I had to make the most of it. ;)

Gem, as usual throwing funny stories during his meal making him the last person to finish eating. Some mad f/1.4 bokeh there. This lens is sweeeet.

Gone out for a walk in a morning. Found some interesting things. The beauty of street photography of course, you never know what you might encounter along the way.

Like this:

It's parked in front of an unused building. Thought the owner was still sleeping somewhere, but couldn't find him anywhere. Seriously, I want to see the kind of person who rides this... thing.

Man, I swear there was some pretty yellowish glows on these flowers. Should have overexposed this one more.

Went eating with friends.

By the way, there were already these 2 couples eating there when we got there. Like, enjoying some quality time or something. And we got 9 people or so. We sat across this long table in a rather small fried rice stall. While waiting for the food to come, of course we had to start talking and laughing... loudly around the couples, like there's nobody else there. With subjects that... let's just say inappropriate to talk in front of eating people. ;) Needless to say, the couples quickly finished their dish and got out. There's even this one young lady who didn't finish her meal. Losing appetite, perhaps. We're evil like that. ;)

Aah yes, nothing like a hot fried rice in a cold rainy night. Again with the wide open goodness.

Overexposed, handshake... totally screwed this one. Too bad, think this one would have been sweet had it been done properly.

Aaand... some feet to end yet another weird entry. Hope this finds you all well.

Later!
